Baked with love. My pastry is light and flaky enough to melt in your mouth but sturdy enough to hold all that fresh fruit.  Homemade from scratch, my mom’s original recipe of simple basic ingredients works with every fruit filling.

All my pies are made with real fruit, ripe and fresh at its peak-of-season best. The Little Fruit Pie Company uses organic products and ingredients whenever possible. I love to shop the farmers markets in Richmond, Ladner, Steveston, Surrey, throughout the Fraser Valley and at least once a season I  venture up to the Okanagan.

Apples - over the years I have discovered that combining a variety of apples is essential for enhancing both the flavour and the texture of the pie. Transparent apples ripen early and their unique tartness pairs perfectly with spartans from the Okanagan. I've also been known to toss in the odd Fuji, Gala or Braeburn so every apple pie creation is just a wee bit different.

Blueberries - I am fortunate to live in the Blueberry capital of Canada where the season lasts from July to September.

Peaches - The best peaches in the world come from the orchards of the Okanagan - peach pie tastes like summer sunshine.

Plums - Plum pie is the Ukrainian favorite! Lucky for me my neighbour lets me pinch some from his tree!

Pumpkin - This deep dish seasonal treat is made with fresh eggs, evaporated milk, golden sugar and the perfect spice combination of cinnamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg.

Raspberries & Blackberries - Handpicked and pesticide free from secret patches throughout Delta and Richmond.

Rhubarb - I buy bushels of it from Glenwood Valley Farms in Langley.

Strawberries - As soon as BC berries are ready in June, I either start picking or visit the local hotspots: Richmond Country Farms and Westham Island in Delta. The west coast rain makes the berries fat, the sunshine makes them sweet.
